Melissa Serrano

I am a Bay Area native - born, raised, and educated. I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a B.A. degree in Communication Studies and minor in Film Studies. I care deeply about Latinx issues as well as issues effecting all people of color, women, and the LGBTQ community. 

 

I am passionate about diversity in all industries, but especially in tech, film, music and television. I am constantly researching and reflecting on the powerful impact representation makes on our communities. I love writing about what diversity means to me and analyzing its overall significance in entertainment.

I am always looking for more ways to be involved in my community through media, learning about different cultures, and discovering creative work that inspires me. On my free time, I love to watch singing competition shows, cuddle with my dog, and talk about Gina Rodriguez.
